Well everyone, we have some extraordinary exciting news here :) guess who will be having a baby next week? I'm sure you all guess me, and if you did thats correct!! I am going in on Wednesday to have my sweet little girl. I am having her C-Section due to my fibroidial tumors. Things are looking good but its best that we get her out sooner. I really cannot even begin to describe the way I feel. I am so over joyed with love and excitement, but at the same time...I'm a little nervous. Mostly about the operation. But I mean...at lease I'm getting something out of this one. hehe :)

I will be starting a new blog as well!! This blog is all about getting our family started. Since that has happened already, I want to start a new blog with a new name. I'm thinking I'll call it "The Adventures of Evie" because thats all its going to be about...my sweet girl.

33 weeks and counting...

Oh my goodness! I just looked at my ticker at the bottom of the page and saw that it read 33 weeks and one day pregnant! Although I knew this, it still took me by surprise. Whenever I first posted the ticker, it read only 5 weeks and I remember thinking about how much longer until I would get to hold this little girl and now...I am thinking to myself I haven't had enough time to prepare...wow time flies! We have been doing alot of preparing for Miss Evie and I have posted a few pictures of things that have been purchased recently...along with a belly shot. I had a doctor appt. today and she is just growing so much! I hope to get the ultrasound picture scanned and posted soon!! The doctor says that Evie will probably be making an appearance in about 3-4 weeks which is so exciting! I cannot wait to hug her and kiss her and let her know how much she is loved by her Mommy and Daddy. I am also very excited about posting her picture for all of you to see! hehe.

Let me just say, the excitement of preparing for our baby girl has been amazing! We are both just so happy! Since we know that we're going to be having a little Evie Rose, I have selected the bedding! This is such an exciting thing for me because I just love love love decorating! Miss Evie will stay in the room with us for the first few months and then she will get to sleep in her "suite"
Hehe, that is what we have been calling it. The room is right across the hall from me and Trent so that is always good! I won't freak out as much when it comes time for her to sleep in her crib...I'll still probably freak out though!! =)

It's a...

Well, after Friday's appoitment, we are sure that we will be welcoming a sweet baby girl into this world!!!! Word's cannot even begin to say how much in love I am right now. Whenever I think about the life that I have been given, it truly amazes me. And now, knowing that I will soon be a Mommy, I am even more in awe with the mighty works of God. As I sit here and thank about it, tears of joy stream down my face. I have been so blessed in my life and things seem to be getting even better!
Praise God!!!

The appoitment went really well other than they spotted 2 tumors developing on my uterus. I have had these fibriod tumors for about 4 years now, and they are just now flaring up again. Please pray that our sweet baby girl can stay safe inside of me until at least a good 32 weeks. There is a very good chance that they will have to take her premature if they cannot remove the tumors. She was showing off during the ultrasound. She was sucking her thumb basically the whole time, it was so precious. She's not even here yet and she already melts Mommy and Daddy's hearts.

We have decided on a name....are you ready???
Evie Rose!!! Yes, yes, I know it wasn't on the list, but I had a dream 2 nights ago that I walked into the bedroom and picked up a precious baby girl with the name Evie Rose printed on her shirt. I woke up and I was so in love with the name that I had to wake Trent and tell him. He actually really liked it and we vowed that it will not change, this little girl is our little Evie Rose!!!There she is, a perfect, sweet little girl!! Sorry about the quality of the picture, I had to do some cropping and editing to get the personal information off of the picture. This pic is my very favorite! You can see her laying there so perfectly.

Oh my everyone...It has been one of those weeks. Nothing seems to be going right, things are getting turned around and plans are falling through. Its just an AHHHHHH week!!!
Trent is having more job issues and they are considering a move again. We were able to get out of the last one but now...here it is again. ***awwww, just wanted to say the baby is moving right now*

So anyways, this week hasn't been meant for me and I just need some time. I hope to be back early next week...I am having a "doing nothing" weekend. I just need to chill and stop worrying about every little thing.

Well all I can say is WOW...I have gotten so many name suggestions here lately! There is a new one to the boy names that we are both in love with...Micah James! I just love Micah and I can't believe I haven't even thought about it! Trent and I have decided that we are just going to have to put out a poll of something because we are stuck with 2 boy names and 2 girl names and we truly can't decide!

I want to thank everyone for all of there opinions on baby names. I got alot of comments and emails from everyone telling us what they thought. I did get one not so nice email and it was from an unknown sender. They were telling me how they thought all the girl names were stupid and odd. Well, we like what we like and you like what you like so let's just grow up!

So...
we are 100% that a boy will be Aiden James, but I do not want to spell Aiden like that. I like different spellings. Any ideas??

and for a little girl, we are still deciding.
I think that I can talk Trent into Brylee (he wants Kenlee) but I do not think that he will go for Kiercy *sigh*

I know we still have plenty of time, we are just anxious. hehe

Month 4...

There is our little pumpkin!!! I had my monthly appointment today and it went really well. Baby is growing well and believe me so am I...ha ha! I have already gained 15 pounds since my first appt.
Oh well, thats part of it and I wouldn't change it for anything! During the ultrasound, baby was showing off big time. It was hilarious! She (or he?) would wave at us, suck thumb, and wiggle all over the place. It was the cutest! I say she or he because we still aren't 100% if baby is a girl, that is just what it looked like in an earlier ultrasound but it was really to soon to tell. Next month, we should be able to get a good look. I am hoping baby cooperates!

Things are slowly coming back together around here. We're still trying to get through the days without tears but it will take time. Thank you for all those prayers!!!

Well, I am off for the weekend. We have a very busy one!!!

Before I even begin with my post, I want to let everyone know what your kind words did for me and the family. Reading all the comments, email, and prayers was such a tremendous help. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart. Words cannot even say how grateful we are to have friends and family like all of you!!!

The funeral took place last week and it was the hardest thing (without a doubt) that I have ever done in my life. Their wasn't a dry eye around, even the pastor just cried and cried. The burial was very intense as well. Trent is trying so hard to pull it together but he is still having a hard time. He says that he can't even begin to think why this had to happen to our family and he is having a lot of anger in his heart. Right now we are trying to keep his faith and glory to God very high. The rest of the family is doing alright. Rachel (James wife and Kennedy's mom) is at a very low point right now and is in need of prayers. She let everyone know on Saturday that she thinks she might be pregnant. Now with the loss of her husband and daughter, she is in such a bad depression. We're all just having to take it one day at a time and keep our faith very strong.

Both James and Kennedy are buried side by side on a hill near Trent's parents home. Heaven has 2 beautiful new Angels!!!

I won't be on as much as I am normally for a little while. Its just going to take some time to get things going again.

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of post here lately. We have had a tragedy in the family...Trent's brother and niece were killed on Tuesday by a drunk driver. The family is taking it very hard. The news came so quick and so unexpectedly that they are basically still in shock from hearing the news. He was only 26 years old and his daughter was 7---they were on their way to the movies when it happened. Trent is doing pretty bad along with the rest of his family. He doesn't want anything to do with anyone right now but he will get through it over time. Thats just what it takes...time and prayers. The funeral is tomorrow, it will be so hard to see Trent (and his family) but I know with the guidance of God we will all pull through...

Well, Trent has been wondering how much longer it would be before I went out and did this..and today it happened. I bought baby clothes! HAHA
I know it still isn't 100% that its a girl but I just couldn't turn around.

I saw these 2 outfits today at Target and I knew that I had to have them both. I bought size 6 months hoping that they will fit baby next summer because she will be about 6 months old. Aren't they adorable???

Today was my 3 month appointment and it went great! I did have an ultrasound and I was very surprised when I found out that it would be a "vaginal" ultrasound. They need to be able to get a very good look at my uterus because of the tumors. Everything looked amazing and the little heart was just pumping away! The doctor asked us if we were interested in finding out the sex of the baby and we said yes (of course) She then told us that it might be a little to soon with a regular ultrasound but since this one was 4D and vaginal, we might be able to tell now. Well here is the thing...she said that by 13 weeks, you can tell if it is a boy because of their obvious parts and we saw NOTHING, and it was a very clear shot. So we are thinking that we have a little Brylee Rose in here. Whatever God gives us will be such a blessing, a little miracle...a girl would be nice though :)

This week has went by so slow if you ask me. Trent and I are anxiously awaiting the homecoming of our friends. They will be arriving home from Guatemala with their new daughter Rilee next week!

We have a busy weekend planned so I most likely will not be posting. Trent is looking forward to Father's Day, as am I.

My doctors appt. is Monday!! I can't wait to hear that little heartbeat!! I have had a few of you ask about finding out the sex of the baby...that is a yes! We hope to be able to do that soon!

Getting Back on Track

I am now back at home and we are getting settled back down and ready for the new week. Today is such an enjoyable day, it is very quiet and calm around here. Trent's parents are on their way back home and now it is back to the two (or should I say 3) of us! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our neighbors getting home from Guatemala with their little Rilee. They are now holding that sweet baby in their arms and cannot wait to get her home. We have seen so many pictures of her and it is so amazing how wonderfully she fits with her mommy and daddy. They were meant to be, thats for sure. I am hoping to get to talk to them tonight if they have time to call. Trent and I cannot wait to babysit little Rilee and help out with her all that we can. This will be so much fun. We have arranged to have a big sign in their front yard whenever they return home. The day before they left, they were saying how they would love a big "WELCOME" baby sign.

Well, we are both very tired and need to catch up on some sleep before this new week begins! Have a great rest of the day!

Hey everyone, I am still here! We have just been so busy, in fact, I don't have much time right now. Trent's parents are in town and we have been spending a lot of time with them. Also, my good friend just delivered her baby and I went down to visit her and her family earlier this week.

Our Weekend Getaway

First of all hello to everyone! I am thinking that I am becoming a blogger addict. This weekend was great, I loved every minute of it but...everything I saw reminded me of blogs. Haha, I am not even joking. There was a couple there that had a 3 year old daughter from China. She was so beautiful and such a sweetie! While we were talking to her and her family, her dog was jumping up on me and Trent and I could see her out of the corner of my eye patting her legs and making kissy noises saying "No no puppy, c'mon" She was so cute! What a blessing she was to her family! They had tried for 5 years to get pregnant when they decided to turn to adoption. They first went to domestic adoption, they were matched with a family and when the baby was born, the birthmother wanted to keep him. We exchanged telephone numbers and hope to get together sometime! And another thing that reminded me of bloggin...haha its a funny one. As we were sitting around the lake, a van came up the road and it reminded me of Stef's "Momma Machine" and I though I wonder if she has posted anything new. haha-not even joking. Our neighbors who are adopting from Guatemala went along on the trip with us. They were having their last free weekend to get away and relax. They leave on Wednesday and me and Trent just cannot wait to get a hold of their precious baby girl. We have seen a few pictures and she is so beautiful. They are going to name her Rilee so if Trent and I have a little girl, she will most likely be Brylee...so we will have Brylee and Rilee :)

Tara (Rilee's mommy) and I went shopping last night after we got back. We bought some adorable outfits for Miss Rilee and quite a few hairbows as well! She will be dressed so cute! I love it!

Trent and I went fishing this weekend and I caught a fish. My first time ever! Haha, and I was so excited. Our weekend was so great...we met new people, got closer to our friends, and just had amazing time to relax!! I hope everyone has a great week!

A quick and early post

I am just dropping by to let everyone know that Trent and I are taking off this weekend. We are headed out to a campground that is about 2 hours away. It will be such a nice getaway and we really need that after our tough week last week. I should be back in bloggerland on Sunday evening. If not then I will be back Monday!

Trent's Deployment..very long post

Wow! I was just browsing my blog and was shocked to notice that I have never posted anything about Trent's military occupation or the time he was deployed to Iraq for 8 months. Today I am just going to blog a little bit about that day and how it is one that I will never forget, it is the 4 yr. "anniversary" to the day that we got the dreaded call.

It was May 31, 2003 and we were having a late Memorial Day celebration. I was out side with everyone and I noticed that Trent had been inside for quite a while and when I went in to check on things, I found him sitting on the edge of the bed with tears in his eyes. When he saw me in the doorway he lost it and the tears started flowing from both of our eyes. I knew that he had been called to duty in Iraq, I just knew thats what it was. I looked at him and said "Did you get the call?"
He just gave me a pitiful look and shook his head yes. I will NEVER EVER forget that feeling that I got. It felt like that someone was taking me and slinging me up against the wall and I couldn't catch my breath ( I know the slinging up against the wall part sounds dramatic but thats how it felt) It was horrible...ahhh it makes me feel nervous as I sit here and type about it. I thought that was bad, that was only the beginning. The day that he left, I thought that I was going to go into a deep depression or something. I could barely contain myself while at the airport and when the plane took off, I felt like everything that I ever loved was leaving me and I might never see him again. Once I got back home, ( I stayed with my parents for about a week) if I saw a picture, I would usually get upset and think about some hilarious or amazing time that we had together.
Months went on and I got more used to my lifestyle of Trent not being home, but I wanted him home soooo bad. On the days that I would get to talk to him or he would write to me, it gave me so much strength to keep going, same for him he always says.

Those were definitely the longest 8 months of my life! (well until now that is, waiting on this little one will take forever!!) The day he came home, I will (once again) NEVER forget the way it felt to see him and to hug him. I thank God everyday for bringing him home to me and his family. Now we are getting ready to start our own family! God is so amazing!!!

This experience really brought me much closer to God! I am now more greatful for everything that he has given me. For those of you who have a loved one over seas, just pray for them every minute of everyday, have Faith, and the day that you get them back into your arms, all the waiting is worth it!

I'm Back...and so is summer!

First off...HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY WONDERFUL HUSBAND!!!

What a long week we have had here. I am very glad to get back to normal and be able to do my blog browsing once again! Trent and I are 100% feeling better but I must say that I am going to be a morning sickness kind of lady. Its bad...usually from about 6 in the morning until about 9 I have been spending in the bathroom. I sure am hoping that this doesn't last my whole pregnancy. But if it does, I will be okay with it.

This weekend has been about cleaning...our whole house looks great! One very exciting project was cleaning out the guest room. This is where our new little one will have his/her room. Isn't that exciting? I am not the best decorator though...I have not the slightest idea how the room would be decorated for a boy or a girl?? Any ideas? How is your little one's room done up? That would be a fun post to do..bedroom/nursery pics, but I am so not up to date with blogger land...that has probably already happened and you all have probably posted it before.

OH MY! Let me tell you all the highlight of my weekend. It just happened today actually. The doorbell rang earlier today and it was our next door neighbors. We have fed/watered their animals for them before while they went on vacation, but other than that, we don't really communicate much. Well, I have a feeling that that is about to change...they came over today and asked if we would be interested in feeding their poodle while they were in GUATEMALA! Yep...they are going to get their 7 month old baby girl from Guatemala. How much fun will that be, having that little girl right next door. We talked to them for quite a while and I do believe that we struck up a friendship. They told us about why they were adopting and they told us about their process. We then told them our situation how we were about to adopt and then TUH-DUH...pregnant! They were excited to hear that we plan to one day adopt. What a sweet couple they are!

Now back to Trent's Birthday, I had to treat him great considering the way he treat me on Mother's Day. I bought him a few gifts from me, and then the baby "got" him a shirt( well actually it is kind of for the baby lol) that says My Dad is the Man! He loved it. We had a cook out here today and had a lot of friends/family over to celebrate! It had been a great weekend!

Sickness...

Hey everyone, sorry that I have been neglecting the blog here lately but Trent and I both have been so sick. All we have really done for the past 4 days is lay around and do basically nothing. The house is a mess, there is so much to be done...so I probably won't be on for the next few days. We are getting things back together here so the computer will be off limits from me.

Ultrasound Day!!!!

What a great day we have had! Today was my first ever baby ultrasound and it went really great! The baby is so tiny that it was hard to identify but you could see parts that were starting to develop. I did do something that I wasn't expecting, I burst into tears whenever I noticed the little pumping heartbeat on the screen. It just hit me that I am finally getting what I have always wanted since I was a very small little girl...I am going to be a Mommy! I am really just an emotional wreck today actually...whenever I got on early to check my blog, I saw the title and the tears started once again. Now don't get me wrong, these are happy tears (beyond happy tears)
Seeing that sweet little baby for the first time definitely gave me the courage to keep going every day and it also really reminded me that I am so blessed!

I was able to get a video going whenever the nurse stepped out of the room. She was such a sweetie. I asked her if I could video it and she said that I wasn't supposed to but she would step out and let me get a quick video. I did get a little picture of the little one as well. I am posting them both. The video is very quick! We had to hurry while we took it. I took all of the personal information off of the ultrasound just to be safe.

Oh oh oh! Another great thing about the appt. was that my due date go bumped up to Jan.2, I measure to be about 9 weeks! Woohoo!!

This has been such a wonderful day! Trent is so excited that I am pregnant this Mother's Day and he is doing all kinds of stuff to keep me reminding me of this special time. I woke up this morning to adozen red roses and a card. Then, he came in our room with my breakfest and a gift. The gift was a picture frame that says "I Love My Mommy" and it has my first ever "belly pic" in it. He is such a sweetie, I love him so much! This afternoon when we were sitting down at lunch, Trent told me that he had another gift for me. I was all excited as I watched him go to the hall closet and get out a big box that said "Adora Dolls Inc." He told me that he had ordered this right whenever we began to discuss adoption but then whenever I found out about the pregnancy, he wanted to put it up and save it. Then, whenever I opened up the box, it was a beautiful Asian baby doll. She is soo pretty. He knew that I would love it the moment he saw her in a catalog. He was going to use the doll to tell me that he thought that China would be the right place to go to bring home our baby. The doll is so beautiful!! I sat her on our guestroom bed and I am going to keep her and hopefully one day give her to my little China baby!

I Love You Trent!! You are so wonderful! Thank you for making this such a special day!

Hey everyone, look at this! I have a new program on my computer that is alot like PhotoShop but it is much easier to use! For awhile, I have been wanting to take B&W pics and give them just a little color. Well, I can finally do it now thanks to this program! You can even save these pics on a disk and have them developed so you can frame them! I love doing this and if you have a picture that you would like this done to, just let me know and I would love to do it for you!

I was just informed last night that Trent's company is wanting him to move to their office in Boston. OH MY! Thats a long way from home. I am so upset about this, we are just now really getting things going the way they should be, things are going so great, and now this. Why does it have to happen now??? The pay is much better than what he is making now and he would get really good benefits in Boston...so that is good, but we are being asked to leave this place that we have both learned to love and call home. We both grew up down here and all of our family is here. How are our families going to feel when I tell them we will be raising our family over 1,000 miles away? I have been so upset today. I sure hate to leave this beautiful place.

Baby Names

I know that it is very soon to talk about baby names but like all anxious parents, we have already started! Last night Trent came upstairs and said that he wanted to have the name picked out so whenever we find out what the baby is, we can call it by a name and not "it", "boy", or "girl".
Trent, of course, wanted to pick a boy name first. He loves the name Hayden for a little boy. Thats not really my favorite, I love Braden!! I have always loved that name so much! We know that for a boy, the middle name will be James (after Trent's brother) so...Hayden James or Braden James?
Then we have the little girl name conflict...I am so in love with the name Brylee Rose. I think it is so cute, precious, ya know, all the good stuff! Trent will not stand for it. "NO WAY" he just keeps saying. He is all for Brenna or Kinsley?? Oh man...it looks like this will be one of those cases where we don't decide the name until he/she is here.

Well, all the new baby excitement made me forget to blog about our new puppy, Codie!
Thats right, we decided to bring this little guy home!

Kaya loves having this new little puppy around. They have bonded already, Codie looks to Kaya like a Mom and she looks to him like her own baby. Doodles doesn't seem to care to much about Codie. He does like to cuddle up next to him at bedtime. They are all so cute. I look forward to see what they think about the new little one!

Visit to the doctor

I had my very first doctors appt. this morning. They wanted me in as soon as possible so they could check the shape of my uterus and make sure it was looking good. The fibroid tumors sometimes deform the uterus and can cause harm to the baby. Everything looked really good and the doc says I feel to be about 6 weeks. I was excited considering I was thinking 4 weeks at the most. My estimated due date is January 15. I go back in two weeks and I will have an ultra sound so they can take a closer look and give me a more accurate due date! I look forward to keeping you all updated throughout this pregnancy!

BIG NEWS

First of all, all I can say is WOW! As many of you know, Trent and I have been deciding on where we were going to adopt from. We were making this decision because of my inability to get pregnant. I have been told that chances of getting pregnant were very slim. However, it looks like God thought otherwise. YEP...I'm Pregnant! It almost seems surreal, I can't believe that just months ago we were told that we should really look into adoption/surrogacy and now here we are, going to be a mommy and daddy. I can't even explain how I feel, I do not think I have ever been this happy before. I feel so blessed! God is sooo great! One thing that I have been asked was "where does this stand for your adoption process?" Adopting is something that we still plan to do in the future. I could never forget about our thoughts to adopt now, I have thought about this child continuously and I could never take all these dreams and get rid of them. There is definitely an adoption in our future, just not as soon as we intended. I will probably be changing my blog around a little bit to fit the "pregnancy" theme. I still hope to keep in touch with you all and read about your wonderful families and adoption journeys!

Trent and I decided that we had to get a new puppy for Doodles and Kaya. We weren't going to look into it this soon but poor Kaya is miserable without Chey. Doodles just kinda seems like nothing is different and all is well. But Kaya and Chey were mother-daughter so I they really had a special connection. Kaya loves to play with puppies...I have a friend that breeds Huskys and Kaya loves visiting the little puppies once in a while. I talked to my friend (not knowing that she had a litter of puppies 9 weeks ago) and she told me that she only had one left. It is a cute little boy puppy. He is almost 10 weeks old, he has a lot of black in his coat. He sure is cute! We are going to visit them this evening and decide weather we will bring him home or not. I know once I get there, I will not be able to turn him down so... :) puppytime!

The Lost Daughters of China

Happy Friday!

I was recently told about this book by Mommy Spice over at hunanspice, it is called The Lost Daughters of China. I went out and bought it last night and I plan to begin reading it tonight. I wanted to get into it today but I was very busy. Has anyone read it? What did you think about...I have heard great things about it! It turned out the lady who I purchased it from has two children adopted from China. I thought that was neat!

In Loving Memory of My Puppy Dog...

This is my 2nd blog today. I was going to blog about it earlier but I just couldn't do it. Yes, I love these dogs very much...especially this one.
This is my husky Cheyenne, she past away early this morning. I walked into the living room and she was laying their in her bed lifeless. It was so sad to see her go but she was in a lot of pain. She has had bad arthritis for about 2 years now and was always in a lot of pain. We are pretty sure that her heart just gave out. She was almost 11 years old and lived a great Doggy life!

I'll miss you Chey-Chey!

Rainy Day

Today was just one of those days. It was rainy and muggy, just a nasty day. I am lucky enough to get to be a stay at home wife. You see, our deal was that if I was going to stay home, then I would do all the stuff around the house, run errands, etc. Well today...I did nothing. I did feel bad whenever I looked in the kitchen this afternoon and there sat a pile of dirty dishes, but I just felt so lazy I didn't even attempt to begin them. It was just one of those days...

My nephew did come to visit me for a little while this morning!! He always makes my day happier!

Today I am posting about this ordeal that my husband and I are facing. As you all know, we are about to begin the process... but there is one thing holding us back. WE DON'T KNOW WHERE TO ADOPT FROM!!! I am totally in love with China! I have been touched by so many stories and pictures of these little Asian cuties! My husband, on the other hand, is very much fond of India. He has been there 2 times with his church and he is in love with it. He is always reading about India adoption and getting all kinds of information on it. I am in love with the fact that he is so passionate about it but there is that small piece of me that wants to say "no way, we're going to China." Alot of you might think do India now and China later (vise-versa). We aren't really financially able to go through the process more than once so...this time will most likely be our last. I'm just praying that we will be led to the right decision very very very soon.

I don't want you all to thank that my blog is going to be a place where I do nothing but complain. Its really not, I promise!!! I'm not like that at all. This is just something that is really on my mind so I decided to blog it. Thats what this is for, right?

My First Post

Well, this is my very first post! I have never blogged before but I think that I will enjoy it!

I am making this blog to keep track with the adoption process of my daughter. Although we have not yet started the process, my husband and I plan to start the process within the next couple of months. We have tried getting pregnant for years and we were not succeeding so we went to a specialist. I was later diagnosed with Endometriosis. This was such a heartbreak finding out that having children biologically probably wouldn't happen. We have been looking up International Adoption and I have been touched by so many stories! I am very excited to give a sweet child a loving home! We are still deciding on China or India? Both places have many children in need of a family. We are praying for our decision and hoping that soon we will be pointed into the path to begin our journey to our daughter!!
